That last line matters, so it is worth being blunt: the portrait is produced by an artificial intelligence model from your photograph. It is not painted, not drawn, and not shot in a studio. We disclose it here, on the result screen and in the metadata of the file we print, as Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires.

The customization that people actually notice is the light.

A ceiling bulb flattens a face: no shadow, no shape, no depth in the eyes. A studio setup puts a large soft source off to one side and lets the other side fall away. That single change is most of the distance between a snapshot and something you would frame.

Questions people ask

What exactly is customized?

The animal, which comes from your photograph, and then the lighting setup, the format and the size. The pose comes from the photo you upload — we do not put your pet in a costume or a new position.

Can I ask for a specific background color?

You choose among the seven studio setups, each of which has its own backdrop, from bright to nearly black. There is no free-form background editor.

Can you add a name or a date to the print?

No. The file we print is the portrait itself, with no text on it. If you want a name, engraved plates for frames are sold everywhere and cost very little.

How many photos do I need to upload?

One. If you have a better one, use the better one — but a single usable photo is the whole requirement.

Can I order more than one portrait of the same pet?

Yes. People often order the same portrait twice in different formats — a canvas for themselves, a framed print for a parent.

Is it returnable?

You see the finished portrait before paying, which is where most of that risk goes. Once printed, a piece made from your own photo cannot be resold, so it is not returnable. The terms page spells this out.
